Librarian's CornerThere is always a lot going on in the library! We would love for you to join us for any and all of our events and programs. We are also always looking for suggestions on how to improve our collection. Please feel free to make a suggestion using the form at the bottom of this page.
A little about me. I have been married for 23 years and we have 4 children (3 girls and a boy). I have been teaching for 18 years. I have taught 1st grade, 4th grade, technology and library, all in an elementary setting. Library has always been my favorite. I fell in love with books as a kid. My favorites were Nancy Drew, Little House on the Prairie plus anything by Beverly Cleary or Judy Blume. I guess you would say, I have always loved books in a series. Now as a mother of four, I love sharing books in a series with them and my students; books like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, The Land of Stories and books by E D Baker, Mary Pope Osborne, Lemony Snicket, Michael Buckley, among countless others.

Reading Programs |
ClubsI sponsor 3 clubs here at Frostwood as part of the Library Program.
Morning Broadcast Team - This club consists of 4th graders chosen by their teacher to do our morning broadcasts. There are many jobs from announcer, director, running the mixing station and teleprompter, etc. The students must arrive by 7:40 to get ready for our morning broadcast. They do this for 6 weeks and then a new team rotates in.
Book Club - This club meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday after school during the school year. It consists of twenty 4th and 5th graders chosen via a first-come, first-serve application process. We read books that are chosen by the librarian with the help of our local bookstore, Blue Willow Books. We have lots of fun, sharing, laughing and sometimes crying over our chosen books. This spring we read Just My Luck by Cammie McGovern.
Debate Club - This newly formed club meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday after school. This club consists of a maximum of twenty 4th and 5th graders. It is designed to help the students learn in-depth research skills, in addition to learning to formulate and present both sides of any argument, plus listen and respectfully respond to the arguments of others.

Tiger Birthday ClubHonor your child’s birthday by participating in the library’s Birthday Club. To participate in the Birthday Club, please bring child at least 24 hours before his/ her birthday to the library to pick out a book to be donated with a bookplate with their name to the library. They will receive a birthday bookmark, a birthday pencil, and will be the absolute first one to check out the book! We also will honor him/her on the morning broadcast. The charge for the book is $20.00. I will use these funds to build our wonderful Frostwood Library collection. What a great way to instill passion for reading, when celebrating their special day!
